"Journey of Seasons" began as an illustration project inspired by the ancient Chinese agricultural calendar, which divides the year into 24 solar terms, or "solar seasons." The story follows a tiny girl as she journeys through the forest, experiencing the changing seasons. I later expanded the scope to animation, which brings to life the tranquil and nostalgic moments of the world around her.

A tribute to my orchid
I bought a small orchid plant from Trader Joe’s two years ago, with just six little flowers in bloom. After the flowers withered, I kept the plant alive. With my persistent watering, the orchid bloomed again after two years - this time with twelve buds. The flowers lived for 6 long months.

I felt the urge to document this magical moment, so I created this piece, with hand-drawn animation for the tiny girl, C4D for the orchid, and gouache painting as texture. I also printed a riso zine based on the animation.
